Good property buys and special offers await visitors

KUALA LUMPUR: Top property developers from around the country will showcase their most attractive residential projects at the Star Property Fair 2010, which opens on Friday at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here.

Developers including Ivory Properties Group, Sime Darby Property, SP Setia, CapitaLand, Mah Sing Group and the Naza Group will have innovative booths to reflect the theme “Stylish Living II” and showcase their newest living concepts.

Visitors to the fair will not only pick up good buys but also be rewarded with special offers if they sign up for a property during the three-day event. For example, buyers of the Sastra U-Thant joint-venture project between CapitaLand and Juta Asia Properties Sdn Bhd will be given two return air tickets, two-night hotel stay plus S$2,000 (RM4,800) worth of vouchers for a shopping spree in Singapore.

CapitaLand Commercial marketing vice-president Catherine Yao said the offer was in conjunction with the CapitaLand Group’s 10th anniversary celebrations in Singapore.

It will only be valid for buyers at the Star Property Fair 2010.

There are over 130 booths showcasing landed properties as well as high-rise residential developments.

Visitors may also sit in for talks by world-class architects and designers such as Bali-based Karl Princic and Steve Leung from Hong Kong on luxury development and modern contemporary design.

There will also be presentations by local experts such as Feng Shui master Prof David Koh, Vastu Shastra master T. Selva, interior designer Eric Leong, real estate consultant Milan Doshi and investment advisers Kevin Cheong and Peter Chan.

Admission to the fair – open from 11am to 7pm – and talks are free. Visitors can also obtain advice on financing options from participating financial institutions.

Besides properties offered by developers, there will be auctions by CIMB Property Mart.

Exciting decorating ideas to inspire home owners

HOMEDEC, an exhibition for homeowners, will be held at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) in Relau from Friday to Sunday.

It is open to the public from 11am to 9pm daily.

HOMEDEC will be a source of inspiration for those who plan to renovate, refurbish or redecorate their homes.

It features new designs, the latest products and innovations for the home.

The highlight of the event is ‘Kids Living’ where there are ideas and settings to show off designs and solutions for a child’s room.

Celebrity designer Eric Leong will provide home tips while feng shui expert Henry Fong will be available to point homeowners in the right direction to maximise qi within their homes.

Tips on choosing the right wall paints will also be provided.

Visitors who spend a minimum of RM100 in a single receipt at the exhibition will be eligible to join a contest to win the grand prize of Cuisinart, KitchenAid and Omega Juicer products worth RM15,000 and also RM5,000 in cash.

A demonstration on making healthy juices will also be held.

Other prizes worth more than RM40,000 are up for grabs.

Visitors who spend a minimum of RM500 in a single receipt will also stand to win a RM20,000 cash reward.

Rehda to hold 3-day property expo

The Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association (REHDA) will showcase a wide selection of properties at Malaysia’s Property Exposition 2010 (MAPEX 2010) from Oct 22 to 24, 2010.

In a statement today, REHDA said MAPEX 2010, with the theme '1Malaysia, 1Home', aimed to connect homebuyers to their dream home by providing a comfortable and convenient avenue for information seeking and exchange through interaction with 38 property developers.

Housing and Local Government Minister, Datuk Chor Chee Heung, will officiate at the launch of the expo on Oct 23.

Chairman of MAPEX committee, Datuk Ng Seing Liong, said in the spirit of 1Malaysia, REHDA wished to set up this platform to help the rakyat of all races own a home.

"At MAPEX, everyone can talk to the developers, pick up brochures and gather as much information as possible to make informed choices," he said.

Other participants include financial institutions, Tribunal for Homebuyers Claims, Treasury Housing Loan Division, Malaysia My Second Home, Employees Provident Fund, Malaysia External Trade Development Corp and the National Housing Department.

The event will be held at Midvalley Exhibition Centre.
